AT&T’s ‘Secret’ Voice Plan

Lately I’ve been contemplating switching to another carrier to save some money. So today I called AT&T (through their 611 number, then navigated menus to “cancel service”) to ask about early contract termination fees. The operator misinterpreted my curiosity, and in an attempt to save my business, offered me a ‘secret’ voice plan to lower my monthly cost.

The plan is this: $29.99 for voice which gets you 300 anytime minutes, 500 night/weekend minutes, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes. Because I text much more than I talk (and most of my friends are on AT&T), this plan worked great for me and saved me about $20.00/mo.
